Anti-Ragging Commitee

Anti-Ragging Committee

At Sikkim Global Technical University (SGTU), we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all our students. To uphold this commitment, SGTU has established a proactive Anti-Ragging Committee that works tirelessly to prevent and address any form of ragging within the campus. Ragging, in any shape or form, is strictly prohibited at SGTU, and our policies align with the regulations laid down by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Honorable Supreme Court of India.

Our Anti-Ragging Committee comprises faculty members, administrative staff, and student representatives who are dedicated to maintaining a culture of respect and dignity on campus. The committee is responsible for implementing preventive measures, spreading awareness about anti-ragging laws, and providing immediate support and redressal to any student affected by ragging-related incidents.

Key Objectives of the Anti-Ragging Committee:

  • To prevent ragging through the enforcement of strict policies and guidelines.
  • To create awareness among students about the consequences of ragging and promote a harmonious campus environment.
  • To ensure swift and appropriate action in the event of any ragging complaints or incidents.
  • To provide a confidential and supportive platform for victims of ragging to seek assistance and resolution.

Measures Taken by the Anti-Ragging Committee:

  • Regular orientation and awareness programs to educate students about the harmful effects of ragging and the importance of empathy.
  • Installation of anti-ragging posters across the campus to serve as reminders of the anti-ragging norms and disciplinary actions.
  • Formation of a 24/7 helpline for students to report any incidents of ragging without fear of repercussions.
  • Organizing counseling sessions and workshops that foster a positive campus culture based on mutual respect and inclusivity.

At SGTU, we recognize the significance of nurturing an environment where all students feel safe, valued, and free from intimidation. The Anti-Ragging Committee is always ready to take stringent action against any individual found indulging in ragging practices. We strongly encourage students to stand against ragging and to report any such acts they may witness or experience.

Our message is clear: SGTU has zero tolerance for ragging, and the university will continue to work towards eradicating it from our campus. By fostering a respectful and empathetic atmosphere, we aim to provide an enriching educational experience for everyone at SGTU.
